Retired Brick Sets

About Retired Brick Sets

Retired Brick Sets helps you work out what a retired LEGO set is really worth, and find the best-value copy on eBay without trawling through hundreds of listings.

How it works

  1. We search eBay every day in the UK, US, Germany, Australia and Canada for each set number, using eBay's official Browse API.
  2. We clean up the results. Listings must contain the exact set number. We remove loose parts, single minifigures, display cases, lights, custom builds, listings that mention other sets, and known knock-off brands.
  3. We sort listings by condition using the eBay condition and the title: new and sealed, used and complete, used with the condition not stated, and incomplete.
  4. We work out a typical price for each condition: the median Buy It Now price including postage, once there are at least 3 listings. Auction bids aren't counted, because they aren't final prices.
  5. We score every Buy It Now listing against that typical price, flag sellers with little or poor feedback, and warn about sealed sets that look too cheap to be genuine.
  6. We record prices daily to build a price history for each set.

What our prices are, and aren't

Our figures are asking prices from live listings, not sold prices, so a set can sell for less. Listings are matched automatically, so the occasional wrong one can slip through. Always read the listing on eBay before you buy.

How we make money

We're an eBay Partner Network affiliate. If you click through to eBay and buy something, eBay may pay us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra and never changes which listings we show or how we score them.
