Questions
What is a good price per piece for LEGO?
As a rough rule of thumb, around 10p per piece is fair for a new set at full retail in the UK. Licensed themes like Star Wars and Disney usually cost more per piece, and big sets often cost less. For retired sets, compare against the typical second-hand price on each set's page.
How do you work out LEGO price per piece?
Divide the price by the number of pieces. A £120 set with 1,500 pieces is £120 ÷ 1,500 = 8p per piece. Our calculator does this for you, and every eBay listing on a set page shows its price per piece.
Is price per piece the best way to judge value?
It's a useful quick check but not the whole story. Big plates and minifigures make some sets better value than the number suggests, and lots of tiny pieces make others look better than they are.
